Animation

Animation: creation of images succession composing a move.

The eye perceive a continuous action if the number of images per second is sufficient. An animation is a fictive and graphic creation, unlike a videotaken with a camera.

Animations can be in two or three dimensions and integrate multimedia interactive functionalities. On the web, just compressed files, such as gif (very bad quality) or swf files (Flash format), can be used. After Effects is one of the most powerful software to built any kind of animation. Most often animations contain sound effects, therefore sound and images must be synchronized and work together.
